It Started in the Car Line
Two weeks into our kids' first year at a private school, we sat in the car line every afternoon watching walkie-talkies, clipboards, and guesswork. Claudia said someone should build an app for this. Then she looked at me and asked: can you make it happen?
For 25 years my job was keeping large networks secure and running, the kind of work where going down is not an option. I said yes, and built PickupFlow to that same standard: it has to work at every dismissal, and it has to protect every family's information. By spring, our kids' school was using it every afternoon. We still use it to pick up our own kids, every school day.
We learned that others had tried this a decade earlier, so we studied what parents and front offices still complained about and made removing that friction the whole point: every pickup in a custody record, fewer taps for families, and a calmer line for staff. That is what we built, and it is ready for your school.
